Birthday!

Thanks, everyone, for the outpouring of birthday blessings. I had a lovely day, featuring dim sum with friends and a (sigh) big chunk of overtime -- though it was overtime writing a grant to do something rather wonderful and good in the world, so there's that. And there's the fact that I love my day job. And I love my real job, writing books. And I love my life.

Speaking of rather wonderful things in the world: behold my birthday present! It's one of two goats that the Heifer project is sending to Nepal in my name. Thank you! I have good reasons for choosing to channel my birthday energy through goats. Trust me, it's appropriate and apropos. I just can't tell you why yet. Secret writing reasons. I hope for news soon.
