Proud to annouce the birth of our daughter, Vivian Katherine, on November 2nd. She was born via emergency c-section following a hard 23 hours of labour. She weighed 6 pounds 10 oz, and was 20 1/2 inches long -- a long lanky girl, with ginger gold curls and a wise face. She's perfect. We're both home now and doing well.
There will be lots of baby writing, I'm sure, but not yet. Best to check in with my husband James, whose blog has gone Vivi-centric. Here is his version of her birth story, with some pictures.
(Edited to add: here are more pictures at my flikr account. Alas, we seem to have reached the limits of what flikr does for free, so enjoy these!)

So many congratulations! Glad that you and Vivian (lovely name) came through hale and hearty.
Wonderful account of your long labour on James' blog. My daughter also had a C-section on Nov.1 - a boy, Zakariya. Sort of a bit the same story as yours but as Grace is very petite, the head not engaged and contractions causing serious slowing of heart rate, she only had a few hours of labour.
May you quickly recover from the frustrating first week or so of caring for the little one and settle into days of wonder as she grows.
Congratulations to you and James!
Congrats!
Congratulations to you and James! Vivian is so beautiful, and I'm just so happy for you both!
What a lot of work and struggle to give birth. Glad all of you are well.
