haiku (night driving)

I'm not sure I mentioned that my very first submitted haiku were rejected by Acorn. They sent a note urging me -- as usual -- to give up metaphor. Though I think I am addicted. Anyway, I'm still reading haiku -- enjoying the site tinywords and a new book.

This is a re-working of this. Yeah, I know, you're not supposed to rework 'em, least the dread label "desk haiku" apply. Oh well. I'm addicted to revision, too. People who know me only through my writing are surprised to see I'm a stroller and a bit of a slob. I was about to say "surprised to see I'm not a perfectionist" -- but on some reflection I'm not sure that's true.
