(but I have stilled and quieted)

But I have burned to the waterline
But I have cried myself like a child to sleep
But I have stilled and quieted my soul

What is this --
     hollow fullness
     content despair

It is too wonderful for me
Like a warm child is my soul within me
Like a swaddled child is my soul
Like a milk this prayer fills me

And I purr like that remember?
that cat in my lap
all torn by the auger

***
Psalm 131
(the title is Ps 131:2 NIV)

This one is scarifying. Starts with destruction, warms to safety in the middle, ends all torn.

Want a text comment? Instead of "like a milk", how about "like milk"?

This poem hits me and I love it. I really cannot describe how it makes me feel, but it makes me feel, and that is a fabulous thing.
