I finally got my submission ready for the new Breathing Fire -- an exciting prospect. I sent them part of Ghost Maps, at Lorna Crozier's suggestion. And I put a little package of Psalms together for Descant, which is at the top of my wanna-be-published-there list at the moment.
I haven't had great luck in magazines this year. (At least compared to last year, when I was accepted in Malahat, Event, PRISM, and Fiddlehead, among others.) Then again, I haven't put out as many submissions. I'm waiting to hear from Blink (since January). It's too soon to look for answers from my July submissions to Vallum and Arc.
I'm also hoping to hear from milieu about their portfolio project (they said they'd notify in June, so I pencilled in August.) I'm starting to uncross my fingers about the Eden Mills Fringe; with only three weeks to the festival, you'd think I'd have been invited if I were going to be invited.
Sir Gawaine is still at Groundwood. Not a peep.
One of the decent things about writing is you always have a reason to watch the mailbox.
